Why is Canada making skilled-worker permits easier to get in the wake?
The problem is purely regional; for example, Alberta has had a dire shortage of citizens prepared to work in the service sector. There may be a superfluity of younger Canadians prepared to do such work, but they can hardly afford to move to Alberta for minimum-wage jobs. Likewise, we may have a substantial number of skilled workers in Thunder Bay, but the jobs waiting for such workers lie elsewhere.
